jeremaya’s sushi seven March 3, 2019 // No Comments as the twins get older, it gets a little trickier planning a birthday theme that feels fair and can be something they both enjoy. which is why lately i’ve just been making it around food they love! since they both love sushi / japanese food and would love to go out for sushi all the time, the idea of ‘sushi seven’ was born. a favorite part of any party planning for me is tying in some cute party favor with the theme. we gave sushi socks to the ladies, chopsticks for the little girls, and oishi shrimp snacks for the guys. winter birthdays are hard because the weather is just too cold and rainy to do anything outside. the twins were hoping to play together at the park, but these cousins played board games together and just enjoyed each other’s company. more games with ‘sushi go’! sweet grandson and gramps! baby makena’s first time over meeting new family. they loved playing songs for each other on the piano. time for a little jeopardy…and friendly competition. draft style teams this time made it exciting. i made these japanese chiffon cakes and tested the recipe the day before. the day of they came out totally different but thankfully it made no difference to them and tasted the same. seven years. this cutie wanted a second slice of cake! sweet gals, all in black leggings! with their new tekka and sake plush toys, too adorable. wrapping up their seventh birthday with coordinated thank you cards. i’m such a sucker for anything kawaii. this was just a fun and fairly relaxed gathering with most of our family. family togetherness and sharing a meal to celebrate our miracle babies. these moments mean so much.
